Regulatory Agencies Cannot Directly Access Fine Monies Collected By Them

An agency should shape and report their work only in accordance with their publicly sponsored mandate. Fine monies should not guide an institution designed for the public good.

Patient Records are not Third-party Property

We paid for the health care services. Now we want our records, please. Thank you. We will use them to promote our own health in partnership with the system and the various teams and divisions who must collaborate with us towards success. This is the 21st century model that Manitobans need, and deserve, without further delay.

Promote Health of Patients, not Health Care Bureaucracies

The alarming practice of decentralized administration practiced by past governments has lead to a petite bourgeois of public health care ‘servants’. They have gotten quite well-off planning health care initiatives that never happen, or happen so poorly they need to be ‘managed’ all over again at great expense. We believe that a strong Health Care Ministry manages the Health Care system for and around the health of the patients. Successful Health Care is not measured by how much we spend (especially on administrators), but by how well we spend to get the outcomes that we require for our citizens.

One Education Model Fits No Child Best

The mythic ‘one-size-fits-all’ educational model of past governments leaves every family poorly served in roughly the same amount. We aim to reverse the effects of school systems developed for bureaucracies by implementing student-centered learning systems. We cannot afford to fail our children in their educational opportunities in order to pander solely to a single-desk supplier of all the same educational choices.

Emergencies are not emergencies if they happen more than 20% of the time.

Realities and Emergencies tend to be confused by past governments. Mismanagement of the water systems has exacerbated flood conditions to obviously unnatural proportions. That is reality, not ‘an emergency’. Poor weather conditions happen, a lot, and the economic impact should be mitigated in advance, not in a tizzy. Past governments have used ‘the sky is falling’ to soak Manitobans in the red ink of reliably incompetent governance. We aim to change this mismanaged emergency system towards the well-managed contingency system.

Strict Fiscal Prudence

Past governments have invested your children’s future in their mistakes. We Balance budgets, using best practice models to find savings and value in places other than our children’s piggy banks. Budgets will hold to inflationary increases only for the entire term.

Empowering New Citizens

New Manitobans often arrive confused over their rights to vote, participate, and add value to their new home. Simple, effective citizenry policies can help ensure that each person understands and can take up every appropriate opportunity for participation. We are stronger working all together.

Member, and not Executive Driven

Why are the vast majority of politically active (or inactive) Manitobans so upset about the actions of their preferred party? Simple, their old party is controlled by a very small group of self-interested persons instead of by the very large group of interested persons. Manitoba United rejects pure central command and control, replacing its with real responsibility imbued within the wider membership.

Reach Far, Set the Bar

Our legacy will be left to our children to manage. The Export Raw Materials economy of the past must be replaced by the value-added and low-import version of the future. Our children must be left opportunities based on solid foundations, and not just for the few and the lucky who control raw material export rights.

Humans within the equation, not outside of it.

All Environmental audits will be expanded to include the socio-economic impact of key government decisions on the citizenry within their environment. For instance, watershed drainage practices of the past will be updated to include the down-stream affects on humans and ecosystems, which will lead to a more balanced and responsible watershed management practice model.

Reach Inward, not Outward. Forward, not Backward.

Where other parties cling to Federal relationships from the past, Manitoba United presents a stronger model of Provincial and Municipal cooperation. Manitobans working with Manitobans building a better Manitoba, one neighborhood at a time.

Leaders in Electoral Reform

We send our sons and daughters abroad to safeguard democracy. We must be as bold at home as they are in the field, striving to better the model for participation in effective self-government.

The Many, and not The Few

What is best for the widest possible concerns of Manitoba citizens, and not the narrowest possible concerns of a party executive, shall guide all actions of Manitoba United.
